DWF – Chairperson’s Message

A Vision for the Future

Chairperson's Thoughts

Our Indian standard of education is excellent, and our students rank among the best in the world. They achieve remarkable academic scores — even securing 100% in subjects like English. But can we truly say that our children are well-rounded? Are they not only masters of marks, but also confident communicators, fluent in languages, aware of current affairs, and grounded in strong general knowledge? Have they developed team spirit and leadership qualities that participation in sports naturally fosters? Do they recognize social inequalities beyond the boundaries of school and home — awareness that involvement in social service can nurture?

While many students excel academically, can they hold their own in public debates or present themselves confidently in interviews — skills cultivated through debates, elocution, and drama? Much of what once shaped character has gradually faded in the pursuit of high grades. Institutions such as the National Cadet Corps and Scouts and Guides, social service initiatives, and exposure to the arts, crafts, culture, and philosophies of our nation have immense value. Our history and heritage, which surround us, offer powerful lessons that must not be overlooked in the race for marks.

The Delhi World Foundation, a Dipsites Pedagogy System and Knowledge Initiative pioneered by distinguished alumni of Delhi Public Schools, seeks to elevate education beyond rote learning and exam-focused preparation. Our goal is not merely high scores, but a holistic, comprehensive, and focused approach to developing well-rounded individuals. Maintaining the highest academic standards is a given; however, we place equal emphasis on the journey — perhaps the road less travelled — filled with adventure, curiosity, and wonder.

The collective wisdom and experience of our Life Trustees, Term Trustees, Advisory Council, and members of the Education & Resource Council are dedicated to opening our students’ eyes to the richness of the world. We encourage them to appreciate art and create it — through pottery, painting, sculpture, and mosaic. We inspire them to build their own identity through creativity. From carving printing blocks and making handmade paper from recycled materials to designing greeting cards, stationery, and decorative crafts, students learn the value of innovation and sustainability.

In simple words, we want children to live a joyful, exciting childhood — not to be hurried into becoming premature adults. We invite you to join us and be part of this meaningful journey, filled with purpose, care, and discovery.
